UHY Hacker Young advises Frosts Garden Centre on acquisition by The Blue Diamond Group

The acquisition represents a strategic effort to honour the Frosts legacy while advancing the business into a new phase of growth and innovation under The Blue Diamond Group’s leadership.

The key highlights of the deal include:

Preservation of Frosts’ Values: The Blue Diamond Group is committed to maintaining Frosts’ unique identity, reputation, and core values that have endeared it to the local community.

Expansion of Blue Diamond’s Portfolio: With the addition of Frosts, The Blue Diamond Group now operates 45 garden centres, enhancing its market presence and customer reach.

Integration of Experienced Leadership: The Blue Diamond Group will bring their vast experience in the sector to ensure a smooth transition of leadership and continuity of the business as James and Jeremy Frost hand over the reins.

Commitment to Community and Heritage: The new owners have pledged to respect the legacy of Frosts Garden Centre, ensuring continuity for customers and staff.

Potential Growth Opportunities: Ongoing discussions about the future of the Willington site may unlock further growth avenues.

The deal was led by Dave Hailey, partner at UHY Hacker Young, who provided critical support throughout the acquisition process. Dave said:

“The Frost family and their garden centres have been valued clients of our business for decades and many of us at UHY have been customers of theirs in that time too!

We’ve been working closely with Jeremy and James over the past few years to support their exit plans and we’re thrilled for them to have now realised their objectives through the sale of the Woburn Sands centre. Whilst it represents the end of an era for the Frost family, we are excited for the future of the business under the ownership of Blue Diamond.”

James Frost, managing director of Frosts Garden Centre, said:

“Dave Hailey provided clear, calm and authoritative direction and advice throughout the entire process, for which we are extremely grateful”

UHY Hacker Young also acknowledges the significant contributions of Tollers LLP, led by Brian Auld, Head of Corporate and Commercial Law, who provided expert legal guidance to the Frosts Group, ensuring a smooth and successful transaction.
