Thomas Devonshire

Tom joined UHY as a trainee in 2007 after graduating from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Commerce. He is a qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has experience in both the private and public sectors.

One of Tom’s significant roles within the firm is audit director, providing and managing internal and external audit services to a significant number of multi-academy trusts, single academy trusts and limited companies, which involves managing a number of teams to deliver the audits to a high standard within challenging timelines. Tom also provides a range of non-audit services to these clients, such as due diligence, design/implementation of financial reporting, and presentations on “hot topics”.

Tom also provides a range of management consulting services to public sector organisations. This has involved a variety of interim roles and project work across the country for mental health, acute and community providers as well as a number of commissioning organisations. Tom has provided a range of services, including the following, most recently undertaking an interim role as Deputy Chief Finance Officer – Strategic at a NHS organisation with an £800m budget:

  • operational efficiency
  • business case preparation/reviews
  • financial strategy
  • performance analysis

Outside of the office, Tom enjoys networking, socialising, five-a-side football, running, and travelling in search of warmer climes!
