Steve is based in UHY’s London office and heads our Global Mobility Services team. Prior to joining UHY, Steve also led similar global mobility functions at the first law firm to be listed on the London Stock Exchange and with another Top 10 UK accounting firm.
Steve’s work with UHY clients is a mixture of advisory activity and the provision of support services to employers who are either already operating cross-border or looking to expand overseas. His advisory work includes critically evaluating and designing improvements to how a business manages the international deployment of staff, focusing on managing and minimising risks, optimising costs, and building operational strategies. Steve has supported companies across a range of scenarios, including Brexit Workforce Planning and the international HR aspects of international M&A preparedness and due diligence.
Steve supports both employers and employees alike, and with both outbound and inbound staff deployment. His range of service support includes personal and employer tax and social security compliance, reviews of employment contracts, residence status analysis, overseas workday relief claims, reviews of employee benefits and remuneration incentives, tax equalisation, international social security, double tax relief, payroll operation and international HR administration.
In his spare time, when Steve’s not struggling to help his children with GCSEs and A levels, his hobbies include art and music, reading, and suffering the agony of following Wasps RFC and Tottenham Hotspur FC. He is also a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants and a Freeman of the City of London, enabling him to support on a pro-bono basis various charitable groups focusing on helping disadvantaged young people to get started with business initiatives.
