Barrie qualified as an ACCA in 1984 having previously obtained an OND and HNC in Business Studies. He subsequently became a Fellow member of the ACCA in 1994.

He commenced his accountancy career in June 1976 at a Chartered Accountants practice in Derbyshire and has subsequently worked in numerous offices in South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

He has many years’ experience in audits, primarily in respect of  private limited companies but also those of PLC’s, not for profit organisations and charities. His experience covers a broad range of industries including manufacturing, motor trade, retailing, construction, leisure and hospitality, professional services etc.

In addition, having worked in Chartered Accountancy practices throughout his career, he has a broad experience including accounts preparation for many different types of entities, VAT compliance, company secretarial compliance, company tax matters and consultancy services. He is passionate about providing clients with a professional service.

His interests include sports, and in particular football, ice hockey and motor sport. In addition, he also enjoys reading and walking.
