Xerocon 2019

27 November 2019

With over 3,000 attendees, Xerocon London 2019 was by far the biggest yet. We’re proud to have been a part of what has been described as the ‘Glastonbury for accountants’!

Introduced by CEO Steve Vamos, who spoke about the shared purpose of the Xero community, this year’s theme was all about building communities of purpose. Xero showed how they are not just a software provider but an organisation which is continually building a strong community to make life better for people in small business.

Gary Turner, the MD of Xero, then shared his own background experience from working in his parent’s small, family-run business, and the impact this had on him while he was growing up.

We learnt that even though Xero is a large business, they run on the mindset of a small business and standing up for small businesses is at the core of everything they do.

“Standing up for small businesses, their families and the entrepreneurs that are struggling to keep things going is what drives us at Xero – and what connects us with our partners.” – Gary Turner, MD at Xero

Key product announcements at Xerocon

The first major announcement to come from Xerocon is that you will now be able to pay suppliers directly through Xero with their new TransferWise integration. This is a feature that has been requested a number of times and will be live from early 2020.

Another big announcement was that a short-term cashflow view is being added to Xero, meaning even more insights will be available to help business owners succeed.

Both of these products are aimed at helping small businesses in improving and understanding their cashflow position.
