The campaign was launched with a simple objective, to encourage charities to:
- Be fraud aware
- Take time to check
- Keep your charity safe
The charity fraud awareness hub is a fantastic resource with lots of useful information, help sheets, case studies, tutorials and webinars.
We would encourage finance staff working in the charity sector, and trustees, to dip into the hub and make use of the resources available.
The current webinar considers the fraud and cybercrime in the next 6 to 12 months from a range of different charity perspectives and outlines some of the big issues that charities should be thinking about now in order to prepare.
The Charity Commission has also published advice for charities on how trustees (and donors) can strengthen their defences in response to fears the pandemic has created environments that are enabling charity fraud.
