Role Overview

The firm is looking to recruit a payroll administrator to join our experienced payroll team.

In your new role as a payroll administrator you will be required to process a number of client payrolls from start to finish. You will have your own client portfolio but will also work as part of the team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience to join this superb team.

We also welcome candidates wishing to study for the CIPP qualification.

Job Description

Duties will include:

  • Operating weekly and monthly payrolls for your own portfolio of client payrolls
  • Obtain the relevant information from the client, process the information and send the final payroll and pay slips etc to the client
  • Notify the client of the PAYE and NIC liability
  • Arrange the BACS payment of employees for some of the clients
  • Complying with Pension filing obligations
  • Undertake quality control reviews of the payrolls
  • Dealing with client queries regarding payroll matters
  • Assisting with setting-up of all new payroll work
  • Assist the Payroll manager with marketing for the payroll department
  • Adhoc payroll projects – statutory changes

Working arrangements

The working week: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) to be worked from 9.00AM to 5.30PM. We may be able to offer some flexibility of hours and occasional working from home.

Person Specifications

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a payroll role is essential
  • Bureau experience is helpful
  • Good organisational skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • Personal drive and energy
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision

Requirements:

  • Ability to learn new payroll software
  • Good IT skills, specifically with Excel
