This AAT Trainee role, provides varied and interesting opportunities at entry level or for an individual part way through their AAT studies. Alongside studying for AAT qualifications, the role involves preparing sole trader, partnership and small limited company accounts, alongside draft tax computations for income and corporation tax. In addition, the role involves managing a portfolio of VAT and bookkeeping clients. You will report to our Client Managers.

This role will include:

  • Preparation of accounts from client’s prime records to a draft stage using accounting software (Iris)
  • Drafting business tax computations and preparing draft CT600s
  • Bookkeeping for clients using spreadsheets, cloud accounting & other software such as Xero, Dext etc.
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Assisting with Client Queries
  • Develop and apply technical knowledge gained from studies and on the job experience
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with clients, managers and colleagues

Person specification/Academic requirements

  • No accountancy experience required
  • Have achieved Level 5 or above in GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Have achieved / be on tack to achieve a minimum of 96 UCAS points or equivalent)
  • Experience of Microsoft Office Package
  • Good IT knowledge
  • Have the right to work in the UK from your start date

Working arrangements

The working week: 35 hours per week, to be worked from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
