Looking forward to Trustees’ Week 2022

The forthcoming Trustees’ Week 2022, with its theme of ‘Making a difference in changing times’, looks to celebrate the essential role that trustees play in the UK charity and not-for-profit sector, and to provide resources and support to help them negotiate this demanding environment.

Now in its 12th year, Trustees’ Week 2022 runs between the 7th and 11th of November.  It brings together the various regulatory bodies and sector support organisations, who together will be delivering a range of online resources and events throughout the week; each with a slightly different focus on the ‘Making a difference in a changing times’ theme.

Charities are encouraged to engage with Trustees’ week, using the opportunity to celebrate and promote the contribution of their own trustees and to reach out to encourage more people to consider what they might be able to offer as a charity trustee, and gain from the experience.

The Trustees Week’ website Trustees Week – Showcasing the work of charity trustees has full details of the organisations involved and links to their own Trustees Week pages, as well as a complete listing of the events; most of which being online and free or low-cost events.

So, there promises to be lots of useful things going on over the week, and so if Trustees’ Week has not previously been in your diary, we would certainly recommend looking at the website and sharing amongst your board.

The next step

At UHY we see providing support for trustees as an integral part of our service to our charity sector clients; be it in formally presenting audit findings to the board, discussions on emerging issues or regular updates and blogs.  We can also provide training on topics such as understanding the Charities SORP and the financial reporting requirements of charities, or in considering an appropriate funds policy.

Please contact your local UHY charity specialist to discuss how we can support your trustee board.
