The charities we’ve previously supported

Shelterbox

We are very proud to have supported our 2022/23 national charity ShelterBox who provide shelter, essential items and technical assistance to help some of the world’s most vulnerable people recover and rebuild their homes after disaster. ShelterBox responds to natural disasters such as earthquakes, tropical cyclones, tsunamis, floods and volcanic eruptions, and also provides emergency aid to families who have been displaced by war or conflict, in places such as Ukraine.

Over the year, our offices from across the UK participated in over 20 national charity days, as well as the UHY Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, to collectively fundraise a total of £42,000 for ShelterBox, the most for any national charity to date.

Children with Cancer UK

Children With Cancer UK currently fund more than 60 research projects at centres of excellence around the UK. These projects are investigating a broad range of childhood cancers – helping them to better understand these diseases and to find more effective, less toxic ways of treating them. Through their investment in research, they are taking forward their understanding of childhood cancer, to give new insights into ways of treating young patients with even the most difficult forms of cancer. They are working to drive up the survival rate still further by developing more effective curative therapies with fewer toxic side effects.

fairshare

FareShare is the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste.  They redistribute surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, to charities that turn it into meals – last year they managed 13,552 tonnes of food and redistributed enough food for 28.6million meals.  The charity reaches 1,300 towns and cities through their 20 regional centres.  Food has been redistributed to 6,273 frontline charities and community groups including homeless hostels, children’s breakfast clubs and lunch clubs for older people, domestic violence refuges and community cafes – organisations that provide life-changing support, as well as lunch and dinner.

mental health foundation

Good mental health is fundamental to thriving in life. It is the essence of who we are and how we experience the world yet, compared to physical health, so little is commonly known about mental health; and mental illness is rapidly growing in the UK. On average 16 people a day end their own lives due to the struggles that living with a mental illness brings.

The Mental Health Foundation leads the search for solutions based on evidence and practice that work in the real world. They deliver programmes, training and guidance that help to prevent mental health problems and support good mental health. The charity works to influence policymakers and advocate for change. They are a UK charity that relies on public donations and grant funding to deliver and campaign for good mental health for all.

Dreams come true

Dreams Come True are a national UK charity that works hard to make dreams come true for children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions aged between 2 and 21 years old.

A dream can be anything from swimming with dolphins, meeting a favourite celebrity or bespoke equipment that improves daily life. Whatever the dream may be, the experience of fulfilling a dream has a profound impact on both the child, their family, friends and carers. It provides a positive focus amongst countless hospital appointments and lengthy treatments, creating joyful memories for families to treasure in difficult times.

Over 50,000 children access palliative care in the UK each year and it is the charity’s passion to reach as many of those children as possible.
