Paul studied and trained in law before becoming a Chartered Accountant with a Big 4 Accountancy firm in Cardiff. During his training within the audit department he was involved in a wide spectrum of clients from manufacturing to professional services.

Following qualification Paul spent time in the USA assisting with numerous acquisitions of US companies by UK companies. In 2001 he moved to London and spent 3 years in the City specialising in banking and insurance broker clients and was involved in some of the large acquisitions in the financial services sector at the time including the RBS/ Nat West deal. Paul moved back to Wales in 2003 and joined Peacheys soon becoming Corporate Services Partner in charge of the provision of all services to corporate clients from audit to corporate finance. 

Specialist industries are construction, healthcare, professional services, recycling and the hospitality sector. In 2007 Paul and Steve Theaker took over Peacheys which joined the UHY Hacker Young network in 2009 then changing its name in 2014.  During that period the Firm has doubled in size so this proven track record in running a business is added to the many years experience in client support and consulting in most areas outside tax.

Paul's current role is Managing Partner with responsibility for many clients and the corporate finance function of UHY Hacker Young Newport, Bristol and Abergavenny.
