Luke joined UHY in 2009 straight from school, and after initially completing his AAT qualification in 2011, he progressed and became a qualified ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 2016. He has since become an integral part of our audit team, and has been an audit manager since 2018.
He works with clients in a range of sectors, including commercial, general not-for-profit charities and educational institutions such as academy trusts and independent schools. Luke has a detailed knowledge of financial reporting in general, particularly FRS 102, the Charities SORP and, for his academy clients, the Academies Accounts Direction and Academy Trust Handbook.
Luke regularly supports the firm’s audit partners by attending planning and completion meetings, and takes a keen interest in the training and development of the firm’s trainees, helping to mentor apprentices and generally assisting with training and compliance.
Luke has in the past acted as a Finance Trustee at a local primary school multi-academy, until this merged with another trust, and this experience of holding a board position proved invaluable in helping him to see issues from a client’s perspective.
In his spare time, Luke enjoys spending time with his wife and young son.
