John is a tax consultant at UHY Hacker Young and has been working with the firm since 2001  He deals with corporate tax and employment tax matters and has advised on many significant transactions and planning exercises covering these and other taxes, as well as helping clients deal with HMRC’s ever-changing regulatory requirements. With the firm's strong specialism within the recruitment sector, his knowledge of IR35 has proved invaluable in helping clients understand the many recent developments in this area.

John is a member of the ICAEW’s Tax Faculty and Valuation and Forensic Communities, reflecting his specialist work in the valuation of businesses and advising as an expert in matrimonial disputes and divorce cases, together with other forensic accounting assignments.  He has undertaken collaborative law training and is an active member of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Collaborative Law Pods.

Out of the office, John represents the Beds, Bucks & Herts district on the ICAEW Council, is a trustee of the Bedfordshire Music Trust, is a keen quizzer and an avid follower of Bedford Blues, Bedford Town FC and Chelsea FC.
