Graham Boar

Graham, our tax partner, has been with UHY Hacker Young for over 16 years, becoming a Fellow member (FCA) with ICAEW in 2017. Since 2012, Graham has been a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Graham is also an ‘Authorised Person’ and the ‘Head of Legal Practice’ under the Letchworth office’s license to carry out non contentious probate work in England and Wales, given by ICAEW. This accredited status can be viewed at www.icaew.com/probate under reference C003725121.

As a taxation services partner, Graham is responsible for private clients across our offices in the East of England, both ensuring that tax compliance obligations are met and providing added value and advisory services to private and corporate clients. He is also responsible for supervising and controlling all probate related and estate administration work within the firm.

In addition to shepherding his own clients Graham undertakes a variety of tax exercises across the wider firm, including:

  • Estate, succession and capital tax planning
  • Trust and estate work including probate
  • Income planning
  • Business transactional structuring work
  • Defending clients during HMRC interventions
  • R&D claims and film / theatre / video game tax credit work
  • Capital allowances

Graham is able to take a holistic view and explain complex things in understandable terms. He enjoys finding solutions to clients’ problems which are not always readily apparent.

Outside the office, when he’s not being kept busy by his twin daughters, Graham can often be found in the kitchen or working on his martial arts.
