Gareth spent 14 years with UHY Calvert Smith, from 2006 to 2020, rising from manager to junior partner over this period. Following a short period working in a more technical audit role with a large regional firm, Gareth returned to the team at UHY in York in 2022.

He is a Chartered Accountant and specialises in financial reporting, audit and other compliance services, such as grant and solicitor accounts rules audits. He has extensive experience of working with not-for-profit organisations, including a period as senior financial accountant in the University sector, and is a trustee board member for a National Portfolio theatre company. 

Outside of work Gareth enjoys spending time outside with his family in the Yorkshire countryside, and is a keen distance runner.
