UHY Torgersens renews partnership with Durham Cathedral’s Foundation 2020 initiative

28 May 2019

UHY Torgersens is delighted to confirm that it will continue as a partner of Durham Cathedral’s Foundation 2020 initiative for the next year. The initiative was established by Durham Cathedral with the aim to build a £10 million endowment by the year 2020.

Foundation 2020 aims to support the annual cycle of planned maintenance and repair of the cathedral’s buildings to ensure they are safeguarded for future generations to enjoy. To kick start the campaign, the National Lottery Heritage Fund awarded a grant of £1 million to the fund which is available to match donations on a 1:1 basis, so every £1 donated is doubled.

Paul McMahon, partner with UHY Torgersens said: ‘It has been our pleasure to support Foundation 2020’s hard work over the past year and we had no hesitation in renewing our partnership for the coming year.’

Matthew Kirk, the Cathedral’s Relationship and Development Manager said: ‘We are delighted UHY Torgersens is continuing their support for the Cathedral’s Foundation 2020 campaign and investing in the future of our region’s premier heritage site. With their help we will be able to keep the Cathedral’s doors open for many years to come.’
