UHY Hacker Young becomes first Zest Diamond

13 June 2014

Our Sheffield office has proudly become Zest’s first Diamond, supporting a new fundraising initiative to coincide with the Zest Centre’s 10th anniversary.

Zest is an award winning, Sheffield based community enterprise.  They manage the Zest Healthy Living Centre and offer health, employment training, social and physical activities for adults and children from across Sheffield, with a particular focus on the neighbourhoods of Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe and Langsett.

The Zest Healthy Living Centre has a swimming pool with warmer water, a ramp into the pool and a hoist, making it ideal for people with disabilities.  They also have a gym, exercise classes, café and library within the building.

Zest is a supporter of Change4life, helping people to Eat Well, Move More and Live Longer.

Current services also include Zest for Work and Zest for Sport.  In addition, Zest is the contracts unit for Sheffield Cubed Consortium.

Zest is based in Upperthorpe and currently employs around 80 staff.  It is run and managed by the local community.

We have been the auditors and accountancy advisors to Zest for over four years and are delighted to make a donation to the Centre’s fundraising campaign to raise £30,000 to support their activities for local children and young people.

These activities include a programme of sports, physical activities and youth clubs.  With a high level of local poverty, it would mean that, without this programme, local young people would be left with nothing to do.

You too can become a diamond and more information can be found at www.zestcommunity.co.uk.
