The Land and Buildings Collection Tool (LBCT) 2018 issued by The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has to be submitted by 5 November 2018.
The Department of Education (DofE) will use this information when preparing the academies sector annual report and accounts.
Most trusts will have completed this form in the previous year and this data will be included in their 2018 return. The academy trust is required to confirm that this is still accurate and to note any changes during the 2017/18 academic year.
The return is separate from the valuation return for new academy schools, which still needs to be completed within six weeks of opening.
Your trust must complete a return if it has at least one open academy as at 31 August 2018.
Those academies with church land should note that the return now includes an electronic sign-off. You cannot submit your return without diocese review if you have church-owned land.
The return does not have to be audited.
