UHY Hacker Young raises £35,000 for UK children’s charity Dreams Come True

  • Surpassed initial target of £5K
  • Fundraising efforts included skydiving, bake sales and the London marathon

With the help of  staff across our offices in the UK, we have managed to raise over £35,000 for our national charity Dreams Come True.

Dreams Come True is a national UK charity that works hard to make dreams come true for children and young people, aged between two and 21 years old, with serious and life-limiting conditions.

Dreams Come True was chosen to be our national charity in 2016, with an aim of raising up to £5,000 through fundraising throughout the year. However, the goal was quickly surpassed, with the Group raising over £35,000 in total.

Our 22 offices have taken part in a variety of fundraising activities such as bake sales, marathons and even skydiving. 12 staff members from our offices in London, Manchester, Kent and Brighton took part in the skydive this year, which raised a total of £5,500. Six staff members also ran the London Marathon in aid of Dreams Come True.

Subarna Banerjee, head of charities at our London office, says: “We are incredibly proud of all the team at UHY Hacker Young, who have made great efforts to support and raise money for our national charity.”

“Dreams Come True is a great organisation and one which we are very pleased to support. Through our work with the charity many children and young adults who live with life limiting conditions have had their dreams made.”

“From fancy dress days, and pumpkin carving to running marathons and skydiving; the fundraising initiatives have been diverse, as well as a lot of fun for the whole team.”

“The amount we have raised is impressive - especially as our goal was initially £5K - and shows not only the willingness of the team at UHY Hacker Young to get involved, but also how the important work Dream Come True carries out has inspired us.”
