UHY Calvert Smith LLP merges with Hare & Co - both York-based accountants

  • New firm to comprise of 34 staff including six partners

UHY Calvert Smith, Chartered Accountants in York and member firm of the UHY Hacker Young Group, has formally merged with accountancy firm Hare & Co, also located in York.

The merged practice is set to be relocated into one office and will comprise of 34 staff, including six partners. Linda Hare, who founded Hare & Co in 2003 and has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, will become one of the six partners along with Gareth Burrow who was promoted to partner on April 1.

Both parties see the merger as an excellent strategic fit.  Both practices provide services to family owned businesses in the York region and both use the same software providers and similar systems for most key services.  The new firm will have a wider range of services covering advisory, audit, and probate and will be extending its client base in the York area.

Hare & Co will benefit from access to the wider network and expertise of the UHY Hacker Young group, one of the Top 20 groups of chartered accountants in the UK.
