Small businesses may soon be helped with accessing funding advice, with the creation of a scheme identifying accountants as ‘funding experts’.
The scheme has been put together by the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Association of Certified Accountants and other members of a joint government and accountancy working group.
Martin Johnson, partner at our Sunderland office backs the idea:
“A self-accreditation scheme will provide a good guide for small businesses, banks and other advisors looking for accountants with specialist funding expertise. Anything which helps small businesses identify where they can get funding to expand is to be welcomed.”
