Business leaders given the Inside Track on corporate finance deals

28 August 2019

Our Corporate Finance team is debunking myths about private equity deals in its latest event featuring experts from the industry.

The second of our Inside Track series is titled ‘Is PE for me?’ and will see four industry leaders share their experience of private equity transactions.  As well as giving insights from the PE investors’ perspective, the seminar will cover what it’s like to be part of the management team going through a transaction, and beyond.

The event, which will take place on Friday 20th September in Spinningfields, features the following four experts.

James Bracewell, COO of Manchester-based pet foods business MPM products, will talk about his experience leading a £50m management buyout. Telling it straight, he will give valuable insights about the reality of living with – and through – a private equity deal.

He will be joined by Daniel Freed, partner at YFM Equity Partners and Fiona McKay, managing director at Lightbulb Leadership Solutions.

The event will be hosted by Adnan Sajid, a leading corporate finance partner here at UHY Hacker Young, who specialises in M&A lead advisory work helping entrepreneurs, corporates and private equity investors in a number of sectors.

Adnan said:

“Many business owners are put off private equity deals because of negative headlines and, sometimes, a lack of in depth knowledge and understanding.

“This event, targeted at ambitious business owners in the region, aims to lift the lid on everything involved in a PE deal.  Invaluable advice will be shared by professional advisors, while those who’ve been through the process will talk about their first-hand experience.

“We aim to provide attendees with precious insights which will help them decide whether a private equity deal is right for their business.  All of the speakers are true experts in their field.

“This is a must attend event for business owners considering their exit options.”
