We are delighted to announce that UHY has once again been recognised as the leading audit firm for overall service levels in the Charity Finance Magazine Audit Survey 2025. This year, 33 of our charity clients took part, moving us into the larger firm category (over 30 respondents) and making this achievement even more significant.

Key highlights from the 2025 Survey

  • UHY named Number 1 for overall service: We are delighted to have secured the top ranking for overall service levels in the larger firm category, placing us first in the ‘Charity Auditor Awards 2025’ shortlist. This fantastic result is a testament to the exceptional quality and dedication our teams provide to charity clients year after year.
  • Outstanding charity expertise: 97% of respondents awarded us top marks for both charity expertise and technical competence, reflecting the deep sector knowledge and technical excellence our teams bring to every engagement.
  • Commitment to transparency and value for money: We were one of the few firms not to receive a single complaint about fees, in a year when fee-related concerns were the most common across the sector (77 complaints overall).
  • Sector leadership and visibility: Our National Head of Charities & Not-for-Profit, Tracey Moore, was once again invited to provide expert commentary for the survey, reinforcing our position as sector leaders.

Sector trends and insights

The 2025 survey, now in its 34th year, reflects a period of significant change for the charity sector. The introduction of the new SORP and the growing role of AI in audit are shaping the landscape, with charities facing new requirements around narrative reporting, sustainability disclosures and financial resilience.

At UHY, we are committed to supporting our clients through these changes, providing clear guidance and proactive communication. To help you get to grips with the changes, we’ve prepared a practical summary of the top 10 updates and what they mean for your charity – you can read our SORP 2026 factsheet here. Over the coming weeks, we will be speaking with our clients and sharing a number of other resources to help you prepare for the changes.
