Claire Thomas

Claire trained with a small independent practice and then moved to a national firm once qualified. She joined UHY in 1989.

She deals with the accounts, audit and, where necessary, consolidation of a wide variety of corporate clients and other organisations such as charities, pension schemes, industrial & provident societies and resident management entities. She also provides assurance services to solicitors, estate & letting agents and grant funding authorities and is involved in due diligence reporting.

Claire’s role encompasses staff training, including technical matters, accounts production and corporation tax software issues, as well as maintaining our technical expertise, in-house procedures and quality control. She is also responsible for the firm’s online filing of corporation tax returns.

As an acknowledged expert in Companies Act accounting rules and financial reporting standards she is responsible for the firm’s quality control procedures that ensure that our clients’ accounts are fully compliant with all relevant legislation and regulation.

Outside work, she takes part in Girl’s Brigade, an international Christian organisation for girls of all ages, and the GB Company that she is involved in operates from a church near Hillsborough in Sheffield.
