Charity Commission urges trustees to get to grips with financial duties

23 March 2017

The Charity Commission has just updated a key piece of its financial guidance – Charity finances: trustee essentials (CC25) and has urged all trustees to read this important guidance. Charity governance, finance and resilience: 15 questions trustees should ask, was also republished yesterday.

These important publications cover the most common areas of managing charity resources including internal financial controls, charity reserves, staff and volunteers, signposting further reading where required. They are crucial reads for any trustee.

We work with many charities across the country and in addition to the assistance we provide to them in our audits and independent examinations, we also perform one-off reviews of procedures and controls and provide trustee training to help charities fulfil best practice. If you'd like to read more about our experience across the sector, you can do so by clicking here.

We urge all trustees to take on board the Charity Commission guidance to ensure strong financial management and governance.
