If you are, or will soon be, registered for VAT, you can expect regular, routine VAT assurance visits. These are carried out by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) Officers and are designed to enable the tax authorities to check that you are accounting for VAT due to the Government, in the correct way. We explain how to cope with these visits from the VAT man.
