HM REVENUE & CUSTOMS (HMRC) LOSE AT THE HOUSE OF LORDS
Following our recent VATflash concerning the House of Lords’ decision to throw out the notorious three-year cap on back-dated VAT claims, you may have seen in the national press that more details are coming to light; although we have yet to see any official response from HMRC. This decision has implications for many businesses and so we advise all businesses to review their VAT position immediately or risk losing the opportunity to make a substantial VAT claim once HMRC bring in the necessary legislative ‘window of opportunity’ required by European law.
