Gary Epstein

Gary Epstein qualified with a firm of chartered accountants in the West End of London in 1978. He then joined KPMG to gain further experience.

He moved back to his home town of Hove in 1982 when he was appointed a partner in the firm of chartered accountants, Morey Sugarman & Co. He then merged the practice with the UHY Hacker Young office in Brighton in 1991.

Gary is a committee member of the Brighton and Central Sussex Group of the South East Society of Chartered Accountants and is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He has considerable experience in inheritance tax and estate planning.

During his 30 years in general practice, Gary has dealt primarily with small and medium sized enterprises and has gained considerable experience in all areas of tax, accounts and financial planning. He has particular expertise in the following:

• Personal and corporate taxation
• Construction industry
• Inheritance tax and estate planning
• Advising on the purchase and sale of businesses
• Hotels, nursing and residential care homes
• Restaurants and the leisure industry
• IR35 and related issues
