- Take A19 to York
- At Bootham Bar turn left onto Gillygate (signposted Inner Ring Road, District Hospital) A19
- At traffic signals turn right on Lord Mayor’s Walk (signposted Inner Ring Road) A19
- At traffic signals turn left onto Monkgate (signposted Inner Ring Road) A1036
- At roundabout take the 3rd exit to the right onto Foss Bank (signposted Inner Ring Road) A1036
- Keep in right hand lane and at traffic lights turn right into Peasholme Green (signposted City Centre)
- Turn right onto St Saviours Place
- Bear left onto St Saviourgate
From the West
- Approaching York from the A64 continue to the A19 turnoff - at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A19 (signposted York)
- Continue forward onto Selby Road - A19. Entering York A19
- Branch right onto Cemetery Road (signposted District Hospital) A19
- At first traffic signals go straight on to reach city walls
- At traffic signals bear right then straight on at next lights to Foss Islands Road (signposted Inner Ring Road) A1036
- Turn left onto Peasholme Green
- Turn right onto St Saviours Place
- Bear left onto St Saviourgate
From the South
- Enter York on the A19, then as from the West
From the East
- Approaching York from the A1079, at Grimston Bar roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hull Road - A1079 (signposted York) and continue to city walls A1079
- At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Hull Road - A1079 (signposted York City Centre) A1079
- At traffic signals at Walmgate Bar turn right onto Foss Islands Road - A1036 (signposted Inner Ring Road, District Hospital) A1036
- Turn left onto Peasholme Green
- Turn right onto St Saviours Place
- Bear left onto St Saviourgate
