Every profession has its own jargon which is used to streamline communication among its members. The accountancy profession is no different, but having a shared understanding of accounting terms with our clients is crucial for effective and efficient decision making.
To help with this, we have developed a glossary of the most commonly used accounting terms and phrases; those that any business owner might encounter when interpreting their accounts or reviewing their financial information with their accountant. Our aim has been to give simple and accessible definitions with a bit of background where we thought this might be of interest.
