Subarna will oversee the pursuit of several ambitious targets during his term, which runs to 2026. These targets include increasing the firm’s revenue by over 50% and to continue to grow the firm’s headcount substantially. UHY Hacker Young is currently well on track to meet these targets.

Subarna has been instrumental in overseeing UHY Hacker Young’s major investment in technology and quality since he was appointed Managing Partner in 2020. This has helped both the business’s audit and tax practices.

Subarna has also led on developing and implementing the firm’s values, including making tough decisions to ensure these values are preserved.

In the last year UHY Hacker Young has voluntarily ceased working with a number of clients whose values do not match its own.

UHY Hacker Young’s values are:

  • Make progress – including embracing change and delivering above and beyond
  • Be present – including honesty, integrity and focusing on quality
  • Enjoy it – including speaking your mind and being yourself
  • Live empathy – including giving credit where it is due and putting yourself in others’ shoes

Implementing the firm’s values has also led to the creation of a new policy and approach to Diversity, Equality & Inclusion, including the introduction of full firm training in this area, and a wellbeing group to help ensure that UHY Hacker Young continues to be an inclusive workplace that prioritises its people.

Subarna Banerjee says: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to continue the progress we have made as a firm over the last few years. I am very proud of contributing to the firm’s success in growing our practice and helping our teams, our clients and our local communities prosper.”

“We are aiming to deliver very significant growth for the firm over the next three years. I’m thankful that the partnership has put its confidence in me to spearhead that project.”

“What makes UHY Hacker Young particularly special is the strength of our values and culture. I’ve always believed that succeeding in our profession involves more than financial performance and that’s part of the reason I joined UHY Hacker Young. Being part of placing those values front and centre over the last three years has been a rewarding experience.”

Subarna originally joined UHY Hacker Young as a Partner in 2014, having previously worked at Grant Thornton and EY. Separately he is also Chair of UHY International, the global network of independent accountancy firms with 340 offices in 99 countries.
