The specialist pharmacy team at UHY in Chester have advised on the successful disposal of an independently owned Glasgow-based Pharmacy for an undisclosed sum.
The pharmacy sale was the subject of a retirement disposal and had been operated for more than 20 years by the same vendors.
The Pharmacy has been acquired by another independent Pharmacist for an undisclosed sum.
John Ierston, who heads up the pharmacy team in UHY Chester, said:
“We have advised the vendors confidentially for more than a year and assisted them in restructuring the business and preparing for the sale. There has been much consolidation occurring in the Retail Pharmacy sector in recent years and it is good to be able to advise on an independent transaction.”
John added: “There is usually a need to prepare for pharmacy disposals well in advance of the sale process to gain maximum efficiencies and our team of healthcare specialists, including taxation advisers, are always available to help where a disposal or acquisition are in prospect.”
