Initially only existing charity contacts will be invited to open these accounts, to try to ensure at least one person per charity will be able to access online services. From next Spring, Trustees and advisors will be invited to join.
This will be a major benefit to everyone connected with more than one charity, as it will give easy and secure links to all your charities in one place, as long as you are registered with the same email address for each of them
Every account will be individual, with an individual password from your own email account. The level of access and ability to update the charity’s information will be set by each charity’s administrator.
If you currently have shared email access, for example ‘info@charityname’, it is recommended you set up separate email access now, to enable ‘My Charity Commission’ to work for you.
Next steps are;
- Continue to log in to your online services using the current sign-in page (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/online-services-for-charities).
- Ensure your charity contact email address is current – if your charity contact does not have an email address, or the email address is incorrect, update this using (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-update-your-charitys-details) and ensure all other information held about your charity is correct
- Look out for an email from the Commission (if you are the charity contact) with details of how to set up your account=
